Book a Mover
Movers are busiest during the last few days of the month. You may have to book
early. Make sure your things are insured by the mover. Find out if the mover is
flat rate or hourly.

Call your Insurance Agent
Fire, Liability, and/or Contents Insurance (Condo). Please refer to chapter 4

don’t call them until the final day, they may disconnect your services and you

Contact Building Manger regarding Moving Day and Repairs

Automatic withdrawal of condo fees.

Visit your Lawyer
Closing costs, documentation, and identity verification 2-3 days before closing.
Closing Day
Pick up your keys from your lawyer. Expect to wait until all monies are
transferred (3-6 pm is not unusual).
Repairs and Renovations
Do these before you move in, if you can? Easier to paint and renovate with no
furniture in the home.
Moving Day
Very hectic day. Expect a full day and you should be there for the whole day. If
moving day=closing day you may not get the keys in time and expect your movers
to be sitting in the driveway of your new home.
